England & more England

Little England on the tour today with six from Sheffield and others from Norwich, Derby and Doncaster. We also met Willy from Edinburgh back on the tour for the second time and two from Melbourne. Fantastic weather with 30 degrees and sunshine. Quite crowded in the square today because of the holiday for children.

Wagga Wagga invasion

Ok, so maybe 3 people from Wagga Wagga in two weeks is not an 'invasion', but it's still something new for us. Minnesota, New York, Leeds, Boston, Invercargill and Sydney were also along for the ride today.

Another beautiful day...

Perfect day today. We met London (5 days in row), Perth (2 days in a row), Sydney, Gold Coast, Wellington and Sao Paolo. Took this picture of the Australians on top of the hill as I told them why they call it Mt. Koz-ee-os-ko instead of the way you are supposed to say it. Do you know how to say it? Do you know what I'm talking about? Come on the tour & I'll explain...

Back to sunny skies....

Last couple of days have been fanstastic - 30 degrees and sunshine. We've met Vancouver, London (each of the last 4 days, actually), Texas, Aberdeen, San Francisco, Newcastle, India, Adelaide, Perth, Arizona, & New York. Thanks again to all of you this week & last week for letting us take your pictures that will be used on the new website!

Coolest job ever....

We promised Dave from Manhattan his very own blog entry since we decided he has the coolest job ever - he owns a dog walking business for the super-rich who just can't find the time to take their own dogs outside... Don't laugh - business is so good that he has hired three more people to work while he is on his one month European vacation! Anyway, it was nice talking to you today, Dave, and happy travels back to NYC.

We promise to support Tipperary hurling!!!

Ok, Margaret from Tipperary, Ireland - we SWEAR we will shout for you in the hurling next year! That is, unless we meet someone from Cork or Kilkenny who asks us to make the same promise to them.....

And thanks again, to Cindy from Minneapolis (and your husband!), for coming out today and becoming the second generation in your family to join us on the tour - send the grandkids when they are old enough to make it three!

Melbourne & the South African 3-timer

In each of the last three years, we have met more people from Melbourne than from any other single city & it looks like this year will be four in a row. Half of today's group of 16 was from Melbourne & this has happened many times before. We're not sure why this is, but it definitely speaks well of them & their desire to travel. Also today, we had another person tie the record for most number of times on the tour. Simone from South Africa joined us for the third time today & it looks like she will break the record sometime soon since she lives & works in Warsaw and often has friends from home visit her there. She always brings them to Krakow and makes the Bike Tour part of their visit - our South African marketing department! Anyway, thanks for that, Simone, and we'll try to get some kind of certificate or trophy for you when you come next time!

In the rain....

Good tours this week in spite of the rain. Singapore, Kansas, Montreal, Perth, Munich, Boston, Sydney, Brazil, Boston and Mexico City among others represented. Interesting for us how we are seeing more and more visitors from Central & South America every year & hope to meet more in the future - the Brazilians in particular are always good fun & we like to get a free Portuguese lesson...

Scots are tough...

Really ugly day today, with dark clouds and wind from the early morning. Almost everyone cancelled for today except for a group of Scots and one English woman. It's funny, this is not the first time we have had a situation like this. Typically, it takes a lot more than a bit a rain to discourage the Scots ("rain? what rain?"). Nice group & a good tour until it really started coming down about 20 minutes before we made it back to the bikeshop. We hid under a tree and chatted about things for while until it passed over. Wasn't so bad after all...

First entry...

Wow. Welcome to our first blog post. This is all part of our new website which will be up & running shortly. Fancy, huh? Anyway, nice tour today with Australia, Germany, Brazil, Austria and Paraguay represented. First guest from Paraguay, by the way. We don't have too many firsts like that these days, having met so many people already. Going back to the 2007 season, we have had 'firsts' from Haiti, Mongolia, Suriname, Honduras and Zimbabwe among others & we look forward to many more. We are afraid this week might be a bit quiet on the tour since heavy rain is in the forecast for most of the next few days. Bring your raincoat...
